12/16 Friday Night Hoops: MacArthur High School Lady Brahmas

The San Antonio Stars would like to recognize the MacArthur HS Girls Basketball team for this week’s Stars Friday Night Hoops.

We enjoy meeting with the Lady Brahmas basketball them and supporting one of our own Gina Monaco who is the daughter of the Stars play-by-play announcer Andrew Monaco. Under the leadership of Coach Jamie Grams, we are looking forward to watching these great young women excel on and off the court!


Previous Friday Night Hoops Features:

Johnson High School Lady Jaguars (10/28)
Johnson High School finished the 2015-16 season with a 27-8 overall record and an impressive 11-1 record in district play. Under the leadership of head coach Stephanie Demarais, the Lady Jaguars qualified for the Girls State Basketball Championships advancing to the third round for the first time in school history. This upcoming season, it will be exciting to see San Antonio’s Girls All District honorees Alyssa Adams and Josie Larson compete in their senior year before they continue their basketball career at Abilene Christian University.
Brandeis High School Broncos (11/4)
The Brandeis Broncos finished last season with an impressive record of 25-10 and 11-2 in district play. With a great tournament run, the Broncos were ranked second in district (27-6A) and 58th in the Texas State ranking according to Maxpreps.com.
The Broncos are led by senior Gabby Connally – who has committed to Georgia. As a junior, Gabby reached a basketball milestone scoring 1,500 points. We are looking forward to the continued success of the Broncos basketball program under the leadership of Coach Jennifer Brewer.

South San High School Lady Bobcats (11/11)
The Lady Bobcats basketball team won their first non-conference game against McCollum on Friday, November 4th. The Bobcats’ Rhiannon Gamez, junior, was selected as the South San Girls Basketball player of the game on November 10th vs. Shoemaker.

Sam Houston High School Lady Hurricanes (11/18)
Starting the 2016-17 season with a record of 5-2, the Lady Hurricanes is a young team led by District 28-5A Leader, Ashawntae Brown. They are working hard to hold their spot and journey to the championship.We are proud to support the Lady Hurricanes in the efforts and look forward to their continued success.

Highlands High School Lady Owls (12/02)
The Lady Owls finished the 2015-16 season with a district record of 15-1. Under the great leadership from Coach Adrianna Wiatrek, we are looking forward to another successful basketball season from the Lady Owls.

Alamo Heights High School Lady Mules (12/09)
The Lady Mules basketball team is a young team with a lot of HEART! Starting the 2016-17 season with six (6) wins and more basketball to come, we are looking forward to the success and growth of these wonderful young ladies.
