Coach Dan Hughes’ son, Bryce, recently graduated from Johnson High School. This fall, Bryce will continue his education and basketball career at the United States Air Force Academy.

The San Antonio Stars will honor active duty military members and veterans during their annual Hoops for Troops game vs. the Indiana Fever at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 17 at the AT&T Center. Service members and veterans will receive up to a 50 percent discount on tickets through GovX at the link above, and can pick up a Stars Hoops for Troops lapel pin at the game with a valid military ID. Friday is also $1 Drink Night presented by Bud Light and the San Antonio Current.On Thursday, June 16, the Stars will host special guests at practice when the All-Air Force Women’s Basketball Team and military families from the Lackland Fisher House come to the Stars practice facility at the Antioch Community Sports Complex. The two groups will watch the team practice and participate in a meet-and-greet afterward. The Lackland Fisher House is a home-away-from-home for the families of seriously ill or injured patients receiving treatment at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center, San Antonio Military Medical Center or other medical facilities in the San Antonio Area at no cost.

Prior to the game 50 future members of the Air Force and Navy will participate in a special on-court enlistment ceremony, and the All-Air Force Women’s Basketball Team will receive a game ball from the Stars starters. Members of the Joint Base San Antonio 502nd Force Support Squadron will present the American Living Flag during the National Anthem. At halftime, servicewomen from the US Air Force and US Coast Guard will be recognized on court. Fans can show their support to those who have served by using the hash tag #HoopsforTroops on social media.
