A new era of Stars basketball begins on Friday with the regular season home opener at the AT&T Center.
The 15th anniversary of the San Antonio Stars features new head coach Vickie Johnson and general manager Ruth Riley, who is in her second season. Together, they’ve built a young and energetic roster.
The Stars are coming off a two-game road trip to New York and Washington. Against the Mystics, Monique Currie scored a career-high 31 points playing in her hometown.
Friday is the first chance to see No. 5 overall pick Nia Coffey, newly acquired centers Isabelle Harrison and Erika de Souza along with the rest of the Stars at 7 p.m. against Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner and the Phoenix Mercury.
Friday is also Dollar Drink Night presented by Bud Light and the San Antonio Current. Domestic beer and soda is $1 all night, along with discounted appetizers at a pregame happy hour at Rock & Brews.
