San Antonio Stars Host Hoops & Hounds Game Presented by Raising Cane’s on June 10

First 1,000 Dogs to Receive Pet Food Scoop

Proceeds from Dog Tickets will Support Animal Defense League of Texas

SAN ANTONIO (May 31, 2017) – The San Antonio Stars will welcome both human and canine fans when they host the annual Hoops & Hounds game, presented by Raising Cane’s, on Saturday, June 10. Tipoff vs. the Chicago Sky is set for 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.

Tickets starting at $19 will get a pet parent and their four-legged friend into the game, and all proceeds from the sale of dog tickets will be donated to Animal Defense League of Texas to support the group’s no-kill initiative.

The first 1,000 dogs in attendance at the Hoops & Hounds game will receive a Raising Cane’s pet food scoop. In addition, the first 50 fans who bring needed supplies will receive a complimentary Box Combo card good at any of Raising Cane’s ten San Antonio area locations. All dogs must be on a leash, accompanied by an adult (one dog per person) and will be directed to enter through the Bud Light Courtyard on the West side of the arena. Water and relief stations will be set up throughout the courtyard.

Dogs will be featured in various in-game elements throughout the evening. Additionally, local rescue groups will be set up on the concourse at the AT&T Center with dogs available for adoption for fans wishing to give a forever home to a furry friend. Raising Cane’s will provide a gift basket for each Stars fan who adopts an animal at the game while supplies last.

The Stars will also feature adoptable dogs on the team’s social media channels throughout the week, giving fans a closer look at some of the pets that are ready for new homes. Fans can also submit photos of their own pups for the Cutest Dog Contest on through Thursday, June 1. Fan voting will begin at noon CDT on June 2, and the winner will receive tickets to the Hoops & Hounds game and an in-game spotlight.
