San Antonio Tips Off 2017 with Five New Players, Including Two Top-Five Draft Picks
SAN ANTONIO (May 12, 2017) – The San Antonio Stars today announced their 2017 roster as they begin the WNBA’s 21st season on the road with back-to-back games at New York on May 13 and May 14 at Washington. The Stars will open their 15th season in the Alamo City against Phoenix on May 19 at 7 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
“Since last season we have adjusted our roster significantly through the draft and free agency,” said General Manager Ruth Riley. “We are also excited to tip off our 15th season in San Antonio with now Head Coach Vickie Johnson at the helm.”
Additionally, San Antonio has suspended Clarissa Dos Santos for the season due to an injury sustained overseas. Guard Kayla McBride is still in season for Yakin Dogu BGD in Turkey and will return at a later date.
The Stars will tip off the 2017 season, presented by H-E-B, on the road with back-to-back games May 13 at New York and May 14 at Washington before their home opener vs. Phoenix on May 19 at 7 p.m. CT at the AT&T Center.
