Stars @ Seattle, 6/18 Game Recap

The Stars held Seattle to its second-lowest point total of the season, but Breanna Stewart led the Storm to a 75-57 victory in a defensive battle in Seattle on Sunday.
Kayla McBride led the Stars with 11 points and was one rebound short of a double-double with nine. Erika de Souza was just short of a double-double as well, scoring eight points with nine rebounds.


Rookie Kelsey Plum scored eight points in her return to Seattle. She starred at the University of Washington for four years, where she set the NCAA women’s scoring record.

Seattle snapped a three-game losing streak as Stewart led the Storm with 22 points and 15 rebounds. The Stars held Seattle scoreless for the first 3:25 of the second half, but Stewart broke the steak with 3-pointers on consecutive possessions.
Stewart also had five blocks and helped Seattle hold the Stars to 28.8 percent shooting. Crystal Langhorne added 10 points for Seattle.
The Stars (0-11) head to Dallas to finish up their three-game road trip with a day game at 12 p.m. Wednesday. They’ll return home on Friday to host Dallas at 7 p.m, which is also $1 Drink Night. Click here to purchase tickets.
